Overview
FileFinish converts supported files into new copies on your iPhone or iPad. The developer, Garrett Templar, does not receive your selected files, file contents, filenames, metadata, conversion settings, recognized PDF text, or finished outputs.
Files and media you select
FileFinish accesses only files, photos, and videos you explicitly select, a still photo you choose to capture, or items you intentionally provide through the Share Sheet, Shortcuts, or supported drag and drop. Conversion and PDF text recognition use Apple frameworks on the device. FileFinish does not operate a developer upload backend.
Public links
Link import requires you to confirm that you own the media or have permission to download and use it. FileFinish sends the HTTPS request directly from your device to the address you enter and to any validated media host exposed by that page. The developer does not receive the URL, response, cookies, or downloaded media. A temporary nonpersistent browser session may be used to inspect a JavaScript-rendered public page, and temporary session cookies are discarded after the import attempt. The source website and your network provider may process ordinary connection information under their own policies.
Temporary working files
Originals are never modified. FileFinish creates protected temporary working copies inside its app container. These copies are normally removed when you start over, clear working files, or after 24 hours if abandoned. Files you export to Photos, Files, Mail, Messages, AirDrop, or another destination are managed by you and that destination.
Data collection and tracking
FileFinish does not operate accounts and does not include advertising, analytics, attribution, tracking, remote configuration, or third-party SDKs. The developer does not collect app usage or diagnostic content from your files.
Permissions
- The system Photos picker provides only the photos or videos you select.
- Camera access is requested only after you choose Camera and is used for a still photo.
- Add-only Photos access is requested only after you choose Save to Photos.
- Files are accessed only through your explicit system selection or handoff.
- Link import requests only the public HTTPS address you enter and does not bypass protected access.
Purchases
The optional lifetime Pro purchase is processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple may process account, payment, tax, and transaction information under Apple’s privacy policies. FileFinish reads Apple-signed entitlement status to unlock Pro and does not send transaction data to a developer server.
Support email
If you email support, the developer receives the address, message, and attachments you choose to provide. That information is used only to respond, maintain necessary support records, and meet legal obligations. Please do not send private source files or sensitive screenshots.
Security and limitations
On-device processing reduces exposure but cannot guarantee compatibility, perfect OCR, or forensic removal of every identifying detail. Review important converted files and keep your originals.
